Special Events
Join us throughout the week for special events as we gather in unity, embracing the spirit of the season. Welcome to a season of shared joy and anticipation!
Indian River fruit will be sold by the choir again this year. This is an important fundraiser for the IPC Choir, and we encourage all members to participate! All proceeds will go toward future IPC Choir trips. You also have the opportunity to donate fruit directly to IPC Community Ministries for distribution to the Blessing Boxes and/or food insecurity programs of greatest need. Online order form coming soon!
Please join us for the season of Advent! During Advent, join us for a noonday Chapel Service each Wednesday (December 4, 11, and 18) followed by a light lunch in the Great Hall. The menu will be Soup and Sandwich provided by Kim's kitchen. Weekly reservation deadline is Tuesday at 12 pm.
Get ready for the holiday season and attend the annual IPC Presbyterian Women’s Holiday Luncheon on Thursday, December 5 in the Great Hall at 11 am. We welcome Chef Scott Peacock as our speaker. Chef Peacock has opened the historic kitchens of the Reverie mansion for intimate, small-group workshops on the fine art of traditional Southern biscuit-making, The Biscuit Experience (chefscottpeacock.com). The class features heirloom ingredients from the Alabama land-and-farmscape that Peacock has dedicated himself to restoring, giving participants a singular opportunity to not only learn his secrets for classic buttermilk biscuits but to experience some of the great lost flavors of the Southern canon. Copies of "The Gift of Southern Cooking" by Edna Lewis and Scott Peacock will be available for purchase following the luncheon.
Join us on Saturday, December 7 for an IPC Advent tradition—Advent Workshop! Come and go from 9 am to 12 pm. Christmas PJs are encouraged while we enjoy snacks, fellowship, Advent crafts and more!
The annual IPC Choir Christmas Concert will take place on December 8 at 4 pm. The program will include the “Christmas Oratorio” by Camille Saint-Saëns, and other beautiful choral and orchestral music by John Tavener, Jonathan Dove, Ottavio Respighi, and Andrej Makor. Soloists will include Kathleen Buccleugh, Beth Middleton, Gloria Parvin, Roderick George, Chris O’Rear, and musicians from the Alabama Symphony. This concert is free to the public.
