Connect with Others

We believe that meaningful connections are essential for spiritual growth and a strong sense of belonging within the Church. Our Adult Fellowship Groups welcome individuals of all ages and backgrounds to come together, share experiences, and nurture their faith in a welcoming, inclusive environment. Check out both large and small group offerings this season.

IPC Connect offers opportunities for IPC adults, from long time members to new visitors, to connect with one another, God, and the wider world. Events occur throughout the year including shows at local theatres, tacos and trivia, cocktail socials, and more!

  • Each Monday and Wednesday (year-round), 1 - 4 pm, RM 308 & 309
    Facilitator: Paul Leaver
Two bridge venues meet every Monday. Play begins at 1 and continues until the last foursome decides to go home, generally around 3:30 or 4:00. One room accommodates six tables, and the second room accommodates 4 tables. Both are attended by players of all experience levels and most play by New American Convention. The more experienced players are always available for questions. This is rubber bridge, not Duplicate or Chicago. The round robin game is also played in the same room on Wednesday with the same format.

  • Each Tuesday, 3 pm, RM 304
    Facilitator: Rowena Macnab
Beginners, current participants in Rowena's weekly classes, and individuals with limited mobility are invited to try this new version of yoga at IPC. Chair yoga, a gentle form of yoga that's done while seated or using a chair for balance, makes the practice more accessible.

  • 1st Monday of the Month, beginning Feb. 5 in RM 307
    Facilitator: Ginni Robertson
This group reads and discusses a new book each month. The book for Febuary is "My Antonia" by Edna Ferber followed by "Covenant of Water" by Abraham Vergheses in March. The group does not meet during January or the summer.

  • Last Tuesdays, 11:30 am, Locations change monthly
    Facilitator: Cindy Shaw
Hope you will join the Lunch Bunch crew for a great meal and fellowship. This is a self-pay event but please register each month so we will have an accurate headcount.

  • 3rd Saturday of the month (Sept. - May), locations & times vary
    Facilitator: Rowena Macnab
Each month, from September to May, the IPC hikers travel to a different location in Alabama for a Saturday hike. Each hike is led by a different person and varies from 4 to 6 miles and in difficulty. To get hike details, visit our Facebook page under groups on the IPC Facebook page or join us on the free app, GroupMe. Hitting the trail with a group of IPC members and their friends is a fantastic way to strengthen relationships and meet new people, all while enjoying God’s wonderful creation.

  • Facilitator: Fairy Sutherland
These dinners take place twice a year in members’ homes, restaurants, or anywhere else you can make a "table". Couples, singles, and members of all ages are invited to register each September. The first dinner will be in the fall (oct. or nov.) of 2023 and second in the spring (feb. or march) of 2024. Participants will be asked to host in their home on a rotation, and there will be 8 people in each rotation. If you participated this past year and did not host, you will be assigned to host during the next rotation.

  • Third Monday of the month, The Fennec, 6 - 8 pm
It's exactly what it sounds like - we sing old timey hymns (plus a few new long as they sound good in a bar) while enjoying good food and beverages. Music begins at 7 pm.
