Wednesday Nights: September 3 - November 19

Led by by IPC Members Bill Casey and Lant Davis

Join us for an engaging study of Christian Doctrine by Shirley Guthrie. This classic introduction to Reformed theology has shaped the faith of countless laity, students, and theologians. The book reflects changes in the church and society since its first publication and thoughtfully addresses topics such as gender in the Bible, racism, pluralism, ecology, and liberation theologies. Together we’ll explore the core tenets of the Christian faith and how they continue to speak to us today.

Each Wednesday Night
Ground & 1st Floor | 5:30 - 7:30 pm

Wednesday Nights this fall, September 3 - November 19, we will explore what it means to Worship God. Kids and leaders will lay the framework for understanding why worship is the central way that we come together in our shared purpose as Christians. We will focus on creating space to understand that Jesus is present with us when we gather in God's name.

Wednesday Nights: September 10 - October 1
Room 302 | 6 - 7 pm

Led by Jettye Davis, Veriditas Certified Labyrinth Facilitator

“When you travel, a new silence goes with you, and if you listen you will hear what your heart would love to say.” – John O’Donohue

In this four-week series, September 10 - October 1, Jettye invites you to explore the labyrinth as a spiritual tool for grounding and renewal in chaotic times. Through walking the labyrinth, finger labyrinths, journaling, drawing, and other creative experiences, participants will discover ways to slow down, listen to the inner song of the soul. Let us nurture together our Veriditas, a greening of the soul This holistic journey embraces the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit.

Jettye Davis trained as a Veriditas facilitator with Lauren Artress in Chartres, France, and Kay Mutert in the U.K. She brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for helping others encounter God’s presence through the labyrinth.

If you would like to join us for dinner in the Great Hall at 5:30 pm, place your order by noon the Tuesday before the class.

Wednesday Nights: October 8 - 29
Room TBD | 6 - 7 pm

This four-week series, October 8 - 29, will serve as a preview of our upcoming Focus on Faith weekend (November 1-3) with Dr. Mark Labberton. Together we will study his book, The Dangerous Act of Worship: Living God’s Call to Justice, in which he describes the disconnection he sees between worship and justice in today’s church. Dr. Labberton challenges us to rediscover worship that not only transforms our hearts but also moves us to act on behalf of the poor, the oppressed, and the forgotten.

If you would like to join us for dinner in the Great Hall at 5:30 pm, place your order by noon the Tuesday before the class.
