How does IPC welcome the world to our family of faith? You may think of our beautiful parlor and grand sanctuary doors as where we do most of our welcoming, but for many the front door to IPC is actually around the back of the church at the gate to our playground. This is where countless IPC families were first welcomed to our church and began to know the love of our community in Christ.
Every day IPC Day School students begin and end their days by crossing the playground during carpool. Every week, our youngest disciples enjoy fellowship during Sunday Worship Care and Wednesday night programming. Every summer, we invite children to build new playground friendships during IPC’s Vacation Bible School and Popsicles on the Playground.
Play is a central tenet of learning, and our playground needs upgrades, with play surfaces that are 15 years old and play structures that were installed over 25 years ago.
Many of the children who have enjoyed our IPC playground are now sending their own children to the same playground equipment they grew up playing on. Our staff has an incredible plan for bringing the playground into the 21st century and they need our help to accomplish this.
I hope that you will join me in fulfilling our baptismal vows to the next generation of our church by supplementing your stewardship gift this year with a special gift to our IPC Playground Renovation Fund.
