IPC SUMMER EVENTS
IPC Church Offices are closed on Monday, May 30, in observance of Memorial Day. We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday! Please note Sunday School classes will not meet on Sunday, May 29.
Join IPC members and friends this summer in Montreat, North Carolina, for the annual Montreat Women’s conference August 12–14 entitled Claimed for More: Wholehearted Living When We Are All Out of Sorts with keynote speaker Sarah Bessey. For more information on registration and to sign up for housing, please email Stacy Pulliam by June 1.
Start the summer with a SPLASH! All IPC families are invited for pool time, a waterslide, hamburgers and hotdogs, ice cream truck, and games.
Adults and Youth at IPC are invited to join us each Sunday at 9 am for a combined Summer Sunday School class with Jeff Leonard, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Biblical and Religious Studies at Samford University. Dr. Leonard's topic is “Four Pictures of Jesus: An Exploration of the Four New Testament Gospels.” The Class will not meet May 29 and July 3.
Campers (completed K5-5th grade) and Tribal Assistants (completed 6th-12 grade) are invited to join us for this year’s in-person Bible Times Marketplace. This year we will explore the life of Paul. Sign up for a fun week at the Children’s Fresh Air Farm June 6-10 from 9 am to 2 pm ($50), or for bus riders 8 am to 2:30 pm ($85). Adult volunteers are needed! Registration is now closed.
Join us for Presbyterian Ministries United Appeal of Birmingham (PMUAB) Sunday on June 12. Learn more about Kirkwood’s Life Care Fund, the IPC Social Services Fund, and the Living River Scholarship Fund during a special Moment for Mission from IPC member Verna Lyons during the morning worship service. If you would like to make a donation, ushers will collect gifts during the offering, or you can make a gift online. The link to make an online donation is coming soon. PMUAB Board members will be available in the Parlor after the service to distribute cookies and answer questions.
The IPC Day School offers the APPLE Day Camp during the summer months over six separate weekly sessions Tuesday-Thursday 9 am - 1 pm. This summer program is an excellent opportunity for children to socialize, learn, and have fun!
SERVE THIS SUMMER
Bring your clean/rinsed #5 plastics to the church to be recycled. Volunteers are also needed to help transport recyclables on a monthly basis.
Provide and serve dinner for the women and children staying at First Light June 19-25. Great activity for a family or group!
Our neighbors who are challenged by poverty are suffering this summer. We are currently seeing a much greater need for food and hygiene items.
Sign up to donate items to fill 100 Weekend Buddy Bags for our Summer Learning Program families to take home in June and July.
Donate healthy snacks for our Summer Learning Program students. Shop our Amazon wish list to purchase items and have them delivered to the Farm.
Volunteers are needed to deliver Meals on Wheels in the Kingston neighborhood, where a significant part of IPC's local community outreach is focused.
Save the date for Sunday, Aug. 14. IPC is planning a picnic following the 11 am worship service.
Most IPCs groups and classes begin meeting for the fall schedules the week of August 15.
