Disaster Relief: Hurricane Helene

I’m sure that all of us have been shocked and heartbroken by the devastation wrought by Hurricane Helene. It’s hard to imagine that a single storm could do that much damage in so many places, especially areas so far from the ocean. It is particularly hard to see places we know and love appear unrecognizable because of the extent of the damage.

In times like these, we can all feel pretty helpless. Of course, prayer is one of the most important things we can do, holding up those who are suffering and grieving before our gracious Lord. But another thing we can do is send help. One of the best ways to do that is through Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA), the emergency and refugee program of the PC (USA).

The IPC Foundation has already committed to putting $15,000 toward the disaster relief efforts of PDA. I am certain that our Community Ministries Committee will be sending pledge dollars from our Mission Support Fund as well.

Donate Today

If you would like to make a donation toward hurricane relief, you can give directly through PDA online. You can also write a check to IPC with “Hurricane Relief” in the memo line, and we will send it on. You can drop off checks at the church or mail them to IPC at 3100 Highland Avenue S., Birmingham, AL 35205. For questions on how to donate, please contact Beth Grauel at (205) 933-3718.
