Join us for IPC's Annual Harvest for Hunger campaign to help fill our neighbor's table and lift up our community. Starting Sunday, October 19, you can pick up a Harvest for Hunger grocery bag at IPC. The list of food and hygiene items (our most needed items) is printed on the bag and is also available below. Please return your filled bags by Sunday, November 23, which is Harvest for Hunger Dedication Day.
Mark your calendar for the 61st Annual November Organ Recital Series. Enjoy free concerts each Sunday in November at 4:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. These performances are a gift to the community.
If your kiddos have participated in Kids ROCK Wednesday Nights this fall, we invite the whole family to have a Thanksgiving meal together! We will enjoy table fellowship with the whole family. Kids ROCK participants will sing during 11 am Worship on Sunday, November 23.

Join us as we celebrate Christ the King Sunday with our annual hymn festival, a joyful service of scripture and song marking the close of the Christian year. During the 8:45 and 11 am worship services, we will dedicate the gifts collected through our Harvest for Hunger campaign, celebrating the generosity of our congregation and the many ways we serve our neighbors in need. Children will participate in the 11 am service with the Call to Worship as we also celebrate the end of Kids Rock for the fall. Come and share in this uplifting morning of music, gratitude, and praise.
IPC Youth Friendsgiving is a potluck style dinner for all current youth (7th-12th grade), and we warmly invite all IPC Youth Alums as well as college students. We will meet from 5 to 6:30 on November 23 in the Highland Hall Garage for dinner, activities, and fellowship. We ask that everyone bring a side dish or dessert—we will provide the main dish.
Happy Thanksgiving! Church offices will be closed Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28. IPC will hold one worship service at 10 am on Sunday, November 30.
The annual fruit sale is going on now! Orders are accepted from now until November 30. This is an important fundraiser for the IPC Choir, and we encourage all members to participate.
This opportunity to offer an alternative Christmas gift will be available December 1 through December 22. Through a donation to the Giving Tree, you can honor a family member, friend, teacher, or coworker with a gift made in their name to IPC Social Services and/or the Children’s Fresh Air Farm. A $10 donation per card is suggested, but all donations are accepted to help our neighbors who are struggling with food, shelter, utilities, transportation, and medical needs, as well as the children and families that benefit from our services at CFAF.
Cards to share with your loved one can be picked up in the Parlor on Sundays and during church office hours from Catherine Sager in the Community Ministries Suite. Join us in giving your loved one a special gift of love, compassion, and generosity this Advent season.
During the Advent Season, please join us for a noon Chapel Service on Wednesdays, December 3, 10, and 17 followed by a light lunch in the Great Hall. The menu will be Soup and Sandwich provided by Kim's kitchen. The weekly reservation deadline is Tuesday at 12 pm.
Join us on Saturday, December 6 for an IPC Advent tradition—Advent Workshop! Come and go from 9 am to 12 pm. Christmas PJs are encouraged while we enjoy snacks, fellowship, Advent crafts and more!
Join us during the Adult Sunday School hour for Dr. Jeff Leonard's special Advent program titled "Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus."
The annual IPC Choir Christmas Concert will take place December 7 at 6 pm. Accompanied by 10 members of the Alabama Symphony string section, the program will include congregational hymns, choral anthems, and orchestral music of the Christmas season by composers including Jonathan Dove, Hugo Distler, Ola Gjeilo, William Bradley Roberts, and will end with the beautiful Ave Maria by Franz Biebl. Soloists will include Janet Ort, Jane Stump, and Willian Perira da Silva.
Honor and remember loved ones by making an Advent flower donation in their names. Your contribution provides fresh flowers and greenery throughout the church during Advent. The names of all those remembered and honored are included in our Christmas Eve Bulletin. Please note that the absolute deadline to contribute is no later than Monday, December 8.

Please deliver all presents unwrapped but with a roll of wrapping paper to IPC's Community Ministry department by December 10. IPC Boy Scout Troop 28 is selling Christmas greenery at the lot located at Shades Cahaba Elementary School in Homewood. All sales will benefit Troop 28 and other area Boy Scout troops, regardless of when you purchase the greenery.
Additionally, all are invited to the Scout Hut for the Troop 28 Open House on Sunday, December 14 after the 11 am worship service.

O come all ye faithful to another Beer & Carols at Iron City on December 15! Enjoy great food, festive libations, plenty of opportunities to sing along, and even a visit from Santa himself. The evening kicks off with children’s music from 5:30 - 6:30 pm, followed by classic carols for everyone from 7 - 8 pm. Space is limited, and this merry night will sell out quickly. Keep an eye on IPC communications for the registration link so you can snag your spot!

Independent Presbyterian Church will be closed December 25 - 26 and January 1 - 2. The church will be open from 8:30 am to 1 pm on December 24 and 31.
