A Love Lived Out Through the Church
It never ceases to amaze me how much love there is at Independent Presbyterian Church. As I reflect on the past year, I am reminded that this love is not abstract but is lived out faithfully and generously through the members of our congregation.
In Scripture, love is described in many ways: love expressed through action and truth rather than words alone; agape, a selfless and unconditional love that seeks the good of others; hesed, a steadfast and covenantal love that reflects God’s enduring faithfulness; and sacrificial love that places the needs of others above our own. Throughout the year, these expressions of biblical love have been on full display through the IPC Now and Forever Endowment Campaign.
Launching the IPC Now and Forever Endowment Campaign
We officially launched the campaign in late April 2025 with a joyful, beautiful event in the Great Hall featuring Rev. Tom Tewell as the keynote speaker. The evening was both inspiring and celebratory, made possible by IPC members who spent months thoughtfully planning every detail as an act of love and service to the church and its future.
Building Connections and Sharing Stories
That same love continued well beyond the launch event. Endowment committee members and campaign ambassadors have personally connected with Henry Edmonds Society members and others throughout the congregation. Many of you received calls from our team, eager to share more about the campaign and hear your hopes for IPC’s future. Several families generously hosted dinners in their homes, creating meaningful spaces for conversation and connection. We are grateful to Scott and Jessica Grover and Jeff and Laurie Grantham for graciously sharing their personal stories and heart for the campaign through video testimonials.
A Generous Response
The response to the campaign has been deeply encouraging. Many commitments have come through bequests and retirement plan beneficiary designations, while others have supported the campaign through current gifts, including the establishment of the William Russell Criss Fund and the Jane McClure Blaum Fund. These funds are highlighted in the 2025 IPC Foundation Annual Report; see pages 9 and 10.
While the Foundation is blessed with significant assets, nearly 90 percent are restricted in purpose, making this campaign an important step in strengthening resources for IPC’s ministries in the years ahead. Your thoughtful engagement and generosity reflect a shared love for IPC and the areas that sustain the life of the church, including greatest needs, congregational care, discipleship, outreach, and worship and music. We are deeply grateful for the faithful response that has already brought the campaign nearly halfway toward its $50 million goal.
The Foundation’s Impact
As you continue through this report, I hope you will see how the work of the Foundation reflects IPC’s love for the congregation, the community, and the world. Through faithful stewardship, thoughtful leadership, and generous giving, 2025 was a year of meaningful progress and impact. The Foundation helped strengthen church ministries, support outreach partners serving vulnerable communities, and create opportunities for members to engage more deeply in the Foundation’s work. In this report, several grant partners share what IPC Foundation support has meant to their work, and we highlight select named funds to illustrate how faithful distributions continue to sustain the ministry and mission of IPC.
