Our services include financial assistance (including utility bills, housing, food, medical, transportation, and education/job readiness training), as well as referrals to other organizations for families we have relationships with through STAIR, the Summer Learning Program at the Children's Fresh Air Farm, and Lift Off.

How can IPC members help with the Social Services Ministry?

Financial contributions are always needed for the Social Services account. Tax-deductible checks can be made out to “IPC Social Services.”

This relational ministry requires the expertise and leadership of our Social Services Coordinator, Evelyn Puckett, who has a Master’s degree in Social Work, in addition to her deep compassion and skills in helping all of us build relationships for hope, healing, and transformation. You can contact IPC Social Services and Evelyn at (205) 933-3726 or epuckett@ipc-usa.org.

  • Habitat for Humanity

Join IPC at the Presbytery Habitat for Humanity Build and Home Dedication each year! IPC sponsors and participates with churches in our Presbytery to build a house for a family in need in the community.

  • The mission of First Light is "to work with homeless women and their children to create hospitality in a safe and nurturing community, to encourage them to maintain dignity, to find hope, to seek opportunity, and to grow spiritually, thereby achieving their full potential." Join together with other members of IPC to be the Body of Christ moving beyond the church into our community through providing and serving dinner for the women and children staying at First Light. IPC will be providing evening meals each night for four weeks in 2023.

  • Birmingham Warming Stations
