Nursery Care

The IPC Nursery is available for 6 week-old to 5k children from 8:30 am to noon on typical Sundays. The entrance to the IPC Nursery is on the Ground Floor, and if you enter from the covered walkway, it is to the right and up three steps in room G21. Older Toddlers can now enter their room separately in room G25.

If you would like to stay with your child at the first visit, or any subsequent visit, you are welcome to do so. Questions? Contact Kenya Glasco.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

Children gather in the Atrium each Sunday at 10 am where children and adults together reflect on the great mysteries of the Christian faith.

Toddler Atrium (2 year olds): G05
Level 1 Atrium (3 - 5k): RM 109
Level 2 Atrium (1st - 3rd): RM 108
Level 3 Atrium (4th - 6th): RM 107

Beginning in 2013, our Sunday school for children has been based on Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) which is a Christian religious formation experience for children ages 2-12 years that utilizes Montessori principles of learning. We have created four atria that provide interactive lessons and hands-on materials (many of which were handmade by IPC members). It is based on the belief that young children can and do experience God, and children are assisted by a catechist until they want to explore the work on their own.

Worship Care

Following the 10 am Sunday school hour, children are picked up from Atrium and are always welcome to join you in worship. Noted in the bulletin, there will be a time during 11 am worship for children (ages 5K and under) to be led out of the sanctuary by our acolytes and taken to worship care. This allows children to experience part of worship in the sanctuary and prepare to stay for the entire service at age 6. Pick up from worship care at the conclusion of the 11 am worship service in Room G06. Worship care is supervised by parent volunteers and IPC childcare employees.
