Knowledge from One of Paul's Letters

Breathtaking. I used that word in my review of the Rev. Gordon Lindsey’s book, “Charter of Christian Freedom: A Layperson’s Study Guide to Paul’s Letter to the Galatians.” Everyone should have a copy of this book and read it again and again to unpack all of the knowledge within one of Paul’s most important letters. You have the chance to read and discuss this book in an intimate small group setting this Lent. Our Grace Groups will read Rev. Lindsey’s book February 23-April 4. Participants will also have the chance to meet and hear the Rev. Lindsey at IPC on Monday, February 24. He’ll have a book signing in the parlor from 4:30-5:30 pm followed by an introduction to the book at 5:30 pm. There will then be a light dinner followed by a special training for our group leaders. This is the first time for us to welcome an author for any of our Grace Group books. Jane and I know him personally, and can tell you from first hand experience that he is truly an outstanding Bible teacher for laypeople. If you haven’t joined a Grace Group, now is the time to sign up. We’ll have registration following worship over the next two Sundays. Online registration is also available.

This Sunday, we will have our annual congregation meeting, which convenes with opening prayer during the 11 am service. Business follows worship. The purposes of the meeting include the following: to receive the 2019 financial reports, to receive the report of the IPC Foundation, to receive the 2019 report of the President of the Congregation, to act on my request for a 4/30/20 retirement date. We hope you will join us for this important annual gathering of our congregation.

Finally, we have heard that many of you are experiencing problems viewing our worship services via livestream. Thank you for making us aware and for worshipping with us remotely! Our IT manager is going to run some tests and do some troubleshooting to identify the issue. Please bear with us. We hope to have the livestream running correctly again next week.

See you Sunday!
