IPC Youth Attended Montreat Youth Conference
June 6-12, 2010
Eighteen members of the IPC Youth group, accompanied by Aly Butts and David Seamon, attended the week-long Youth Conference in Montreat, near Asheville, North Carolina. David Seamon (former IPC Youth Director who recently moved with his wife to Seattle) returned to chaperone the youth with Aly on this special retreat.

Study...Worship...Recreation
Their conference was entitled;  "In These Waters."
"Called from the chaos, we gather in this sacred space, rooted in God's call and purpose. We seek to provide an authentic community of unconditional love where each individual gives and receives support, trust, and acceptance from others. We will encourage and empower youth to encounter God in, through, and with each other to ask questions, embrace challenges, and be commissioned to apply their faith relevantly in the world.  The Montreat Youth Conferences are designed for high school students, entering freshmen through graduated seniors. A Youth Conference is a unique gathering of young people from all over the country for a week of study, worship, and recreation.
Activities include morning energizers, music keynote, small group meetings where the conference theme is explored, afternoon recreation activities and evening worship."

 Who We Are

Youth ministry at Independent Presbyterian Church is about building relationships, meeting youth where they are, and, most of all, growing together as we grow in our relationships with God. We are an open group of 7th-12th graders with more than ten schools represented. We welcome any and all.  We're glad for your visit to our site and invite you to join in the life and ministry of the youth at IPC.
