Love Thy Neighborhood Walking Tour

As part of this year's Focus on Faith theme of Love Thy Neighborhood, IPC member Cathy Adams will lead two historical/architectural tours of Highland Avenue houses of worship.

The first tour will begin on Saturday, October 28 at 9:30 am with a 20-minute tour of Temple Emanu-El, followed by 20-minute tours of South Highland

Presbyterian and St. Mary's Episcopal Churches. Temple Emanu-El has invited us to their 10:30 am worship service. (NOTE: Anyone attending service will miss St. Mary's stop.) Please park in the South Highland Presbyterian parking lot where we will begin our tour with a brief talk on the history of Highland Avenue.

On Sunday, October 29, we will meet at Independent Presbyterian Church for an architectural overview led by Andrew Hicks followed by a walk around Highland Avenue with historian and author Richard Dabney and ending with light refreshments at The Clubhouse on Highland hosted by Bob McKenna.

Both tours will include a history of the buildings with an emphasis on their architecture. Please wear comfortable shoes and dress casually. To register, please email Betsy Middlebrooks by Wednesday, October 25 at
bmiddlebrooks@ipc-usa.org and indicate which tour(s) you plan to attend and how many will be in your party. Tours are limited to 40 participants, reservations first come first served. For more information, contact
Cathy Adams at 918-0877.
