Preschool Sunday School
Ages 2 - 5 (by 9-1-09)
Sunday School: 10:00-10:50 a.m.
Sunday Worship Services: 8:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
Childcare is available from 8:30 a.m. until after the 11:00 service.
Worship Care is provided completely by Member Volunteers.
Sunday School Curriculum and Worship Care
Our age requirements for class assignments are based on the same standards used by the Alabama school systems. Students need to reach the age requirement on or before September 1st. A child stays with the same class for the entire year and is promoted to the next age level on “Promotion Sunday,” which is the first Sunday in June.
Preschool Curriculum
2-year old class “God Loves Me” Room G05
The God Loves Me curriculum is written in the Reformed tradition. It contains 52 beautifully illustrated picture books that take children through the stories in the Bible to help them understand that God loves us and gives us good gifts. The weekly lesson will be reinforced during the hands-on craft activity, song-body movement activities, and music time with Mrs. Compton.
Teachers: Leslie Robinson, Teri Borders, Liz Pharo, and substitute teachers are Lindsey Ring, Jessica Meriwether, and Courtney Bowen.
3-year old class “Wee Believe” Room G08
4-year old class Room G12
In the Wee Believe curriculum children will be introduced to major personalities of the Old and New Testaments. They will begin with the stories of Joseph, move through the Exodus and Exile of the children of Israel, and end with the birth of Jesus, his baptism, and the miracles of Jesus. Children will also participate in hands-on crafts, song-body movement activities, and spend music time with Mrs. Compton.

Worship Care
Worship Care is available during the 8:45 am Worship Service for infants to 5-year olds and during the 11:00 am Worship Service for infants to 4-year olds.

Children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade are encouraged to attend Children’s Chapel and follow the acolyte out of the 11:00 Worship Service into Edmonds Chapel. Children 3rd grade or older are encouraged to remain in the worship service with a parent or an adult.
