The Independent Presbyterian Church Day School is a part of the Christian Education ministry of IPC. Under the guidance of the Director of Christian Education and of the Director of the Day School, the Day School Subcommittee of the Christian Education Committee evaluates and plans the policies for the Day School program.

Each member of the Day School staff has expressed a commitment to Christ and to the ministry of this program. The staff is chosen for their love of young children and their ability to create a Christian atmosphere in the classroom. We are blessed with a staff chosen not only for their professional abilities but also for their genuine love and respect for the children in their care.

JASON C. TURNER Director of the IPC Day School, joined the staff in 1996 as Music Associate and Director of the Children’s Choirs. In 1998, Jason was appointed Director of the IPC Mother’s Day Out program, while also teaching music in the Day School. In 1999 the Mother’s Day Out program was combined with the Day School under Jason’s leadership as the newly appointed Director.
Under Jason’s leadership the Day School has expanded its curriculum and programming in several areas, including the additions of the APPLE Day Camp, the Barrett Coe Kelley Library, the teacher resource center, the Spanish program, before and after school enrichment programs, the annual Mom’s Coffee & Book Fair, Christmas programs, weekly chapel services for all age groups, the PEP program, the Science and Social Studies programs, technological advances, and a monthly newsletter – The Kaleidoscope.  Additionally, Jason expanded the Day School to include a highly regarded Five-Year-Old Kindergarten program. During 2008, working closely with a generous benefactor, Jason was instrumental in the establishment of the HERO Scholarship program and HERO Endowment Fund.

Jason can also be seen acting as guest organist for Sunday services and other occasions at IPC when needed.
Prior to joining IPC, Jason practiced nursing for HealthSouth Medical Center in Birmingham.
Jason holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Early and Elementary Childhood Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and an Associate Degree in Nursing, Gadsden State Community College.
